Shara Magomedov Octagon Interview | UFC 294
/
“Shara Bullet” started exceptionally well, battering Silva’s legs with heavy kicks, showing right out of the gate that he’ll be an entertaining addition to the division. But in the second half of the fight, Silva was able to take the fight to the canvas and attack, only to have Magomedov do more damage off his back.
The judges were tasked with determining the victor, and all three saw it the same way, awarding Magomedov the unanimous decision win with scores of 30-27 across the board. This was an entertaining way to kick off the day and a quality opening impression from the undefeated newcomer. | Official Scorecards

Viktoriia Dudakova Post-Fight Interview | UFC 294
/
The undefeated Russian prospect controlled the opening frame with her striking, dropping Frey in the final seconds of the round with a clean left hook. Frey turned to her grappling in the second, putting Dudakova on the canvas and controlling the majority of the frame from top position, but Dudakova was able to rally and out-work the former Invicta FC champ over the final five minutes, throwing more and landing more to put herself ahead.
All three judges saw the fight the same way, awarding Dudakova the unanimous decision victory. With that, the 24-year-old moves to 2-0 inside the Octagon and 8-0 overall, cementing her status as one to keep close tabs on in the 115-pound weight class. | Official Scorecards
Muhammad Naimov defeats Nathaniel Wood by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
The intriguing featherweight clash between Muhammad Naimov and Nathaniel Wood was as competitive as expected, but colored by fouls and fence grabs that altered the complexion of the fight.

Muhammad Naimov Post-Fight Interview | UFC 294
/
Each man wobbled the other in the opening stanza — Naimov early, Wood late — but the biggest blow of the round was a heavy knee below the belt that left Wood in obvious discomfort. A second low kick started the second, but a point was not taken, nor was Naimov penalized for grabbing the fence as Wood was trying to take him to the ground. Moments later, Naimov scored a takedown of his own to potentially win the round.
Wood poured it on down the stretch in the third, taking the fight to Naimov, but he was unable to secure the finish, with Naimov again getting scolded for grabbing the inside of the glove.
For the third straight fight, the judges were tasked with determining the victor, and all three had it the same way, awarding Naimov the unanimous decision win. | Official Scorecards
Mike Breeden defeats Anshul Jubli by KO (strikes) at 3:00 of Round 3

Mike Breeden Post-Fight Interview | UFC 294
/
Jubli got out to an excellent start, boxing up Breeden over the first two rounds. But in the third, the American came out literally barking at Jubli and the antics seemed to shake the Indian newcomer, as “Money Mike” poured on the offence and eventually dropped Jubli with a clean right hand.
This was a case of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, and in the most necessary spot possible, as Breeden halted a three-fight skid and rallied to claim his first UFC victory
Sedriques Dumas defeats Abu Azaitar by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
The middleweight contest between Sedriques Dumas and Abu Azaitar wasn’t as action-packed as expected, with each man showing significant respect for the strikes coming back their way, leading to a “hunt-and-peck” battle over the final 10 minutes.

Sedriques Dumas Post-Fight Interview | UFC 294
/
Dumas took Azaitar down in the opening stanza and controlled him on the canvas throughout, landing sporadic shots and showing an edge in the wrestling department. But over the next two rounds, the Dana White’s Contender Series grad opted to keep things standing, with Azaitar landing the more telling blows in the second. But Dumas was the more active and effective of the two in the third, sitting Azaitar down with a jab midway through the frame and out-landing the veteran overall.
After dropping his promotional debut, Dumas has now earned consecutive victories inside the Octagon while continuing to show improvements each time out. For Azaitar, it’s a second straight UFC defeat, causing his record to slip to 14-4-1 overall. | Official Scorecards
Javid Basharat and Victor Henry declared a no contest (accidental low blow) at 0:15 of Round 2
The highly anticipated bantamweight clash between Javid Basharat and Victor Henry was halted prematurely following what appeared to be an accidental low blow to Henry.
After a competitive opening round where neither man gained a significant advantage, the second round was just getting underway when Basharat landed an inside kick that drew an immediate, pained reaction from Henry. The veteran took the full five minutes, but was unable to recover, resulting in the fight being halted.
It’s an unfortunate ending to what was shaping up to be an entertaining, tactical battle in the 135-pound weight class. | Official Scorecards
Trevor Peek defeats Mohammad Yahya by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
Trevor Peek turned in a more measured performance to get back into the win column in Saturday’s penultimate preliminary card bout, out-landing Abu Dhabi’s own Mohammad Yahya to collect his second UFC victory.
Known for his chaotic approach inside the Octagon, Peek was more reserved with output, selectively throwing big shots while also mixing in some takedowns and clinch work against the debuting Yahya. There were short bursts of the all-out aggression that marked Peek’s DWCS appearance and successful debut, but on the whole, he was much more contained. Yahya had moments, but not enough sustained offensive output to really swing things in his favor.
When the round-by-round scores were added up, it was the American that came out on the happy side of the results. Peek moved to 9-1 overall with the victory, while the loss snapped Yahya’s five-fight winning streak and dropped his record to 12-4 overall. | Official Scorecards
Muhammad Mokaev defeats Tim Elliott by submission (arm-triangle choke) at 3:03 of Round

Muhammad Mokaev Post-Fight Interview | UFC 294
/
The flyweights ran close to level in the opening stanza, with Elliott threatening late with a guillotine choke that Mokaev was able to clear. It was more of the same in the second, with Elliott attacking a triangle choke, only for Mokaev to forcibly slam him to the canvas to get free. In the third, Elliott attacked with knees from a front headlock position, with Mokaev hitting a lovely peak-out to climb into top position and secure the fight-ending arm-triangle choke.
Just 23 years old, Mokaev is now 5-0 inside the Octagon and 11-0 overall (with one no contest). He’s been one of the top prospects in the sport for the last couple years, and he could be graduating to contender status after this effort. | Official Scorecards

Said Nurmagomedov Octagon Interview | UFC 294
/
Muin Gafurov came charging forward, looking to press the action, but as he shot in for a takedown, he kept his head outside and Nurmagomedov attacked, lacing his arms together and putting Gafurov to sleep. This was the same choke he used on Cody Stamann a couple fights back and is quickly becoming his go-to finisher.
Nurmagomedov had won four straight before suffering a decision loss to Jonathan Martinez last time out, but gets himself moving in the right direction once again with his third submission win on his last four victories. Now 18-3 overall, he remains one of the top talents on the fringes of the Top 15. | Official Scorecards

Ikram Aliskerov Post-Fight Interview | UFC 294
/
The 30-year-old Russian sat Warlley Alves down with a jab early in the opening round, following it up with a perfect flying switch knee that landed clean and opened the door for the finishing flurry.
After registering a first-round stoppage win over Phil Hawes in his debut, this is now a second straight dominant first-round finish for the surging newcomer, who looks poised to make a rapid push into the Top 10
Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker declared a no contest (accidental foul) at 3:13 of Round 1
The light heavyweight clash between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker was halted after Walker was declared unable to continue by the ringside physician following an illegal knee earlier in the bout.
Ankalaev was taking the fight to Walker along the fence in the opening stanza before landing a knee to the head of the towering Brazilian. The fight was paused, and when the physician asked Walker a series of questions, he was unable to provide answers that satisfied the physician, who instructed the referee that the fight needed to be halted.
Chaos followed, but thankfully, cooler heads eventually prevailed.

Khamzat Chimaev Post-Fight Interview | UFC 294
/
The undefeated Chimaev dominated the opening round with his wrestling, spending four minutes locked onto Usman’s back, landing sporadic shots and threatening with chokes. The pace and output slowed considerably in the second, with neither man landing much and Chimaev waiting until the final 30 seconds to secure a takedown. Usman was getting the better of things on the feet in the third before Chimaev put him on his back in the center of the Octagon, grinding out much of the remainder of the round.
In the end, two of three judges scored the fight for Chimaev, while the third scored the bout a draw, giving Chimaev his seventh consecutive UFC victory and 13th straight win overall. | Official Scorecards
Main Event: Islam Makhachev defeats Alexander Volkanovski by KO (strikes) at 3:06 of Round 1
There are no more questions.
Islam Makhachev was annoyed by the narrative that Alexander Volkanovski won their initial encounter and garnered more praise than he did following the victory, and on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, he made it clear he’s the better man, finishing Volkanovski in the first round.
After grappling along the fence in the early stages, the duo broke into space and Makhachev went high with a left kick, connecting with the temple and shaking the equilibrium of the featherweight champion. The hammerfists quickly followed and the fight was halted.
This was a massive statement effort for Makhachev, who has now earned consecutive successful title defences against Volkanovski and 13 straight wins inside the Octagon
